If you are still not sure what you want or you have more questions concerning
the business of web product photography check out our jargon
explained page or alternatively give us a call or e-mail
us, we are only to glad to help.
How long does it take for the photographs to be taken and the images to be returned to me?
We are able to turn around images in 3-5 working days, that is from shooting your products to handing over the images, however if you want your images quickly we can arrange for a 24hr turn around, although this incurs an extra cost.
How do you get the images to me?
Our images can be supplied on DVD/CD or by e-mail (depending on the size of the shoot). During the course of the images being processed we will send you a sample of our images to ensure we have captured the image you are looking for.
Where can you photograph the products?
We photograph most products using our purpose built studio, but we are able to attend customer's premises, if the products are large, numerous or of a high monetary value.
Can I just copy images off the web and use them on my site?
Copying images off the internet is against copyright law and carries a hefty penalty, unless you have permission from the image owner, or you have purchased them from an authorised dealer.
What size photographs should I use on my site?
Size of images is a personal thing that you may wish to discuss with us or your web site designer! Thumbnails are normally 100x100 psi and when clicked, go through to a larger size, which can be any size determined by you or your website software. This is something to be discussed when we shoot your products (i.e do i need a large image to show off detail, do I want to open a new page or just a larger image on the same web page.) Size should also be considered if you wish to use the images in a catalogue, flyer or other printed format. We will supply the images in their raw format for any future use.
Do the photographs become my property?
Yes. We capture the image but the images will belong to you the customer. To protect your images from copying off your website which is considered as copyright theft, we are able to watermark your photographs with a company logo or trademark.
What background colour should I use for my products?
This depends on several factors. Here are the questions
we would ask:
What do you want the site to look and feel like?
What are the products you are putting on the site? Will they be lost against a particular
coloured background?
Do you need different coloured backgrounds for the same product to be used on different pages of the website? By going through these issues we will work what will work best for your site and the products you wish to display.
Do you have a minimum amount of products that you will photograph?
No we don't. However it is more cost effective if we photograph several items in a session. If we are asked to photograph singular items we will charge travelling expenses if we are required to visit your premises.
As well as photographing single items, do you photograph groups of items for a display for example.
Yes we can photograph groups of items, in various positions and angles. These incur extra costs that can be negotiated once it is clear what is involved.
Will you provide different sizes of the same image?
Once it has been decided which sizes you require we will produce thumbnail sizes, a larger image size agreed on and the raw image, all in the cost shown. If you require more copies of varying sizes, this can be done for an extra cost.
Can you help uploading the images to my website?
Yes we can. Uploading images to a website can be time consuming and complicated. We are able to carry out this service for an extra cost.
How do you catalogue the products you photograph?
We will catalogue the images in which ever format you require, i.e ascending number, name of the product, product description, and catalogue number. Giving your images a unique number makes it easy for uploading and managing your image catalogue.
Can you re-touch or alter images that have already been taken?
Yes we can. Although we like to take the photograph the product ourselves we have worked on images supplied by the customer, and produced them for use on the web.
Do you just photograph products in the Nottingham area?
No we can travel to anywhere within the UK. Expenses may be incurred depending on the size of the task and location.
